Chiusi is one of the oldest and most strategic Etruscan settlements, still preserving a magic atmosphere of the past with its Etruscan tombs, cisterns, underground passages. You will visit the fascinating Etruscan aqueduct under the Old Town and the remarkable Etruscan collections of the Archaeological Museum in the morning. From history to wine & food: you will discover a boutique winery with spectacular cellars set in an Etruscan tomb and premium wines attesting the ancient wine tradition of Chiusi where the Etruscans first introduced vitis vinifera and will enjoy a typical lunch on the banks of the lake of Chiusi. Join a truffle treasure hunt on a one-day excursion in the Crete Senesi, the clay hills of Siena. In a small group (8 people max) explore private reserves guided by expert truffle-searchers who will explain all you need to know to find these curious, elusive delicacies. You will be assisted by experienced and inseparable dogs, Lagotto Romagnolo breed, essential to find the precious tuber. Enjoy a relaxing day in nature as you seek out these pungent culinary jewels and try them at a celebratory tasting at the end of the excursion. .

A gourmet experience through beauty and history A full sensorial immersion in the flavours and landscapes of a unique land with exclusive visits to selected producers and tastings of first quality wine, cheese and typical products. A fascinating flash back into the Middle Ages still surviving in the villages, abbeys and parish churches of Val d'Orcia. The tour will start with the visit to one of the top wineries in Montepulciano and a friendly tasting in the cellar of the two jewels of the winery, the Vino Rosso and the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. After the wine experience, you will be delighted by top pecorino cheese produced in a nearby caseificio in Pienza, managed by a local family with a long tradition in cheese making. At lunch you will also experience the rich flavours of salami and cold cuts from cinta senese in a typical osteria in the beautiful hills of Val d’Orcia. In the afternoon you will discover the cultural and historic beauties of nearby villages and abbeys, before reaching Montalcino for a final wine tasting, as the highlight of a gourmet day. This tour concentrates on two hilltop jewels of wine: Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Brunello, a rich, robust pure Sangiovese, is one of the handfuls of DOCG wines hunted by wine collectors for its depth of flavor and potential to age for decades. In nearby Montepulciano, the Vino Nobile has been praised by popes and princes alike for centuries for its elegance and “noble” structure. The tour will start around 11 am in the first of the two wineries. Before the tasting, you will enjoy a tour of the entire vineyard including a stroll through the vines continuing on to the cellar where you will be shown the various stages of wine production - fermentation, maturation, aging, etc. The wine tasting is usually accompanied by typical Tuscan dishes and guided by the owners/winemakers. The second winery, although still adhering to the strict guidelines imposed by the region, always differs from the first in its style and methods of production, allowing you to experience and to compare the contrasting characteristics of the two wineries, that reflect the strategy and the personality of the wine makers.

The territory is home to jewels such as Pienza, a charming hill town known for its pungent pecorino cheeses and ideal Renaissance center; San Quirico, an important stop for pilgrims heading to Rome with beautiful Romanesque carving and soothing; Bagno Vignoni, a thermal spa town famous since the Etruscan era and Monticchiello, charming fortified hamlet whose ramparts offer breathtaking views over the sweeping landscape below.
