In the center of Tuscany – between Florence, Siena and Arezzo – lies Chianti, a name synonymous with the famous wine. In addition to the organized green of the vineyards, the silver leaves of olive trees, the tall green cypresses and the stone villages prompt everyone with a camera to capture this unique landscape. From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, Chianti was a battlefield for the on-going war between Siena and Florence for control of these lands. The many hilltop castles and fortresses testify to this history. Whether your interests lie in wine-tasting, visiting historical castles or tiny medieval villages, Chianti is not to be missed.

Brolio Castle and the Abbey of Coltibuono

We will spend the day amidst the beauty and majesty of noble estates born through centuries of intrigue and investment, political strife and artistic patronage. We will view the fertile fields and breathtaking citadels that grounded the fortunes of central Tuscany’s most prestigious dynasties. Our journey centers around two Chianti landmarks, the mighty Castle of Brolio and the powerful Abbey of Coltibuono.
We will travel into the heart of the Chianti region along beautiful country roads to reach the Castle of Brolio.
Home to the mighty Ricasoli family, Brolio is famous in Chianti lore both as a strategic outpost and the birthplace of modern Chianti wine. We will enjoy the tour of the castle's marvellous garden and the tasting of the estate’s fine wines followed by a delicious lunch at a local trattoria.
In the afternoon we will arrive at the Abbey of Badia a Coltibuono, which was founded in 1051 by the monks of the Vallombrosan Order and has been owned by the Stucchi-Prinetti family since 1846. After the tour, we will visit the Coltibuono enoteca, where you will have a chance to sample the estate’s wine, olive oil, and enjoy the beautiful ceramics and olive wood pieces produced by local artisans.

Hot Air Ballooning
Departure from Tavarnelle Val di Pesa.
Experience the magic of an aerial adventure where the destination is irrelevant, the journey everything! Hot air balloon expeditions capture the imagination, as each flight is a unique and magical voyage. Flights can be arranged throughout Tuscany and are followed by a "Chianti breakfast" to celebrate your adventures. Afterwards, you will be accompanied back to the launch site.
The flight starts at dawn (approx. 6.00 am) and the inflation takes about 30 minutes. Your voyage lasts a little over an hour. The ballooning season is approximately late spring to early autumn with annual variations.

HORSE BACK RIDING (combined with lunch or wine tasting )
In the verdant Chianti hills just outside Florence, enjoy a ride through lovely Tuscan landscapes of vineyards, groves, and woodlands with a professional English speaking guide. You will be paired with a horse suitable to your skills and height and will be provided with a cap and proper safety gear.
The duration of the walk may vary depending on the experience and age of riders.
For young people or beginners a ring session is recommended. The ring is beautifully nestled in the middle of the countryside.
At the end of the ride, we can organize a visit with wine tasting (and even lunch!) in a beautiful winery in the area.

Didactic FARM
A pleasant educational to approach children to Tuscan Nature and agriculture in an authentic farm in Chianti surrounded by a beautiful rural environment.
An enjoyable experience in a typical rural environment of Chianti addressed both to children and their parents, a unique opportunity to visit a Tuscan farm and approach daily work of a farm, cultivations systems, life and habits of animals like ducks, geese, hens and pigeons, cats and dogs and cinta senese, a selected breed of wild pork. Children will become familiar with the vegetables and aromatic herbs of a typical “orto” (vegetable garden) and will have a guided walk in the orchards, vineyards and olive grooves of the farm.
The visit will end with a jolly picnic in the farmyard with delicious home made products of the farm. Upon request it will be possible to organize a drawing lab to memorize and recognize animals and plants, as a memory of the outdoor excursion in Chianti.
